Nicola

Hi! I’m Nicola, part of team Imagination Gaming

Here’s a bit about me

I’m the chatty one!

Yes, I love games, but I am not a gamer.

I’m a talker – hence the fact that I have always worked in an environment where I must use my vocal chords.

Prior to joining Imagination Gaming, I was the Manager of a Nationwide Driving School and before that I worked for a large Insurance Company.

In 2007, I took the big decision with the support of my husband to put a career on hold to start a family. All my drive and focus went into family life and I loved every minute of it!

Being a new parent made me analyse my own childhood. Looking back on those memories, I saw a lot of enjoyment… and a lot of playing board and card games with my parents, grandparents and sister.

We had such fun times together and still do. Family get togethers always involved a board game at Nana’s house and still do to this date!

Knowing a man in the industry is always a bonus and I was fortunate to pick his brains and purchase suitable games for my growing family. The man of mystery was none other than Nigel Scarfe himself, Founder and Senior Partner at Imagination Gaming!

Nigel was able to suggest the perfect games for my family and my son Elliot was playing games from an early age. I saw first-hand how such games were ideal in complementing his learning. Learning whilst having fun enabled me to spend quality time with my son whilst supporting his educational needs.

It wasn’t until Elliot started nursery that I had the time to do something else. I was Mum with some free time and a passion to do something for others. Elliot had brought out my nurturing skills and a side of me that wanted to help other children. I started to volunteer at my local village Primary School, initially listening to the children read and that turned into helping children in the classroom.

It was shortly after this in 2013 that Nigel asked if I wanted to join Imagination Gaming. I was obviously familiar with the company and had skills from previous jobs that I could put to good use.

The rest is history…

I started 2 afternoons per week whilst Elliot was in nursery and kept volunteering at school. All these years on and here I am working for Imagination Gaming full time! Being in school only highlighted what I knew to be true. Games are fun… they are also an incredible tool that can complement your children’s education.

Maybe I am a gamer after all … if you would like to speak to someone who truly believes in the benefits of games in education look no further, give me a call…. As you know I love to talk!

Brilliant Feedback

We invited Imagination Gaming into our school after a recommendation from another school in Sheffield. We booked 3 days and Chris was very experienced in guiding us in how to get the most from the time. It was a brilliant experience that engaged all year groups and parents too.
