Abbey Primary School Inter-School Games Tournament Part Deux!

Abbey Primary School Inter-School Games Tournament Part Deux!

Just over a year ago, Abbey Primary School hosted its very first Imagination Gaming Inter-School Games Tournament. A fantastic event that brought together schools within the ONE Academy Trust for a day of fun, learning, and friendly competition. Such a success, we knew we had to do it again!

On the 17th of November, Abbey Primary opened its doors once more, welcoming teams from five different schools within the Trust for a day filled with excitement.

Nine teams in total competed, showcasing their skills in maths, literacy, and problem-solving. The atmosphere was electric, with resilience, determination, and encouragement shining through every challenge. Of course, the biggest highlight was seeing all those beaming smiles!

This year, we were delighted to see teams from Abbey Primary, Dovedale Primary, Wynndale Primary, Sawley Juniors, and Southwark Primary School. Each team incredible… positive, enthusiastic, and inspiring. The atmosphere was created by the general friendliness of the setting and came from our visitors.

The enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by the young people were a true credit to them. It was wonderful to see the focus and determination on every child’s face, each genuinely relishing the moment and truly enjoying the process of learning.

A huge thank you to all the participating schools, staff, and pupils for making the day so special from start to finish. The behaviour was exemplary, and every child represented their school with pride and confidence.

While it was a friendly competition, there could only be one overall winner. This year, Wynndale Primary took home the crown, with Abbey Primary Team 1 finishing in a close second place. Congratulations to all!

A special mention goes to Zachi from Southwark Primary, who achieved the highest individual score and claimed the top spot on the leaderboard. The race was tight at the top, with four pupils sharing joint second place, well done to Ellia, James R, Scarlet, and Oakley!

A big thank you to Mr. Harris, Headteacher at Abbey Primary, for welcoming all the schools and for inviting Imagination Gaming back for a second year. We’re already looking forward to next year… will you be joining us in 2026?
