Rummikub brings people together with brilliant simplicity and provides hours of enjoyment.
Played with 106 tiles (numbered 1 to 13 in 4 different colours), the object of the game is to be the first player to clear your rack of all tiles and shout "Rummikub".
Lay down sets of "groups" (three or four tiles of the same number but different colour) or "runs" (three or more consecutive numbers of the same colour).
Manipulate tiles already on the table to your advantage! Rearrange or add to existing sets, to use your tiles. Don’t forget to use the joker; if it’s left on your rack at the end of the game, it could cost you 30 points! The joker is your greatest tile to use and manipulate other sets with. Use it wisely.
Numbers skills, pattern and colour recognition, being strategic (when to lay a tile down and when to wait) and patience are all skills that get developed playing Rummikub.
Card games were outlawed in the 1940’s in Romania. As a result, Rummikub creator Mr. Hertzano came up with an original idea – to substitute the cards with tiles to create a new game. Demand for Rummikub soon spread and it continued to grow in popularity around the world.
